我之前考了2次500多，但是作文最高的分数是5.5

12月的时候考了一次，数学48，verbal39，算是上700了，但是没写作文

因为现在我报不到1月份的考试名额，

所以急问，申请的时候，我能不能用这次的720+之前的作文5.5 去申请呢？

For your case, the best way you can do is to go to  the University's website, which you would like to apply, then,  to find the FAQS under the program or 

admission section. Here is an example of  the FAQS for  the Emory University Full time MAB program:

How does the Admissions Committee consider multiple GMAT scores?
We consider the highest total GMAT score; we do not average multiple GMAT scores. It doesn't say how they consider the  essay score, you may email them and ask them for your question before you apply. The most important thing is how does  the Admissions Committee consider essay score, not someone else. Just try to ask the question directly,  hopefully you may not to retake it.

大部分学校都不看GMAT作文成绩，这是一个美国本科生说的。因为题目泄漏，作文分数体现不出写作水平。
你不能用以前的分数，那是cheating。有的学校要求作文分数，有的没有明确要求，你可以先申请那些没有明确要求的。

我现在准备再考一次，因为我打算申请09FALL了，所以也不着急，纯粹为了作文
