别的选项我明白。 我不明白为什么OG说E中them不能指代illustrations

这句的them是不可以指代illustrations的。为什么呢？

 Beatrix Potter（主语）, in her book illustrations（插入语）, carefully coordinated（谓语） them（宾语） with her narratives

注意，这里的them指代的是句子的插入语部分的illustrations，而them，it是不可以指代插入语的。（记住哦）

再看另一句子。

never would their grip on Algeria be secure if they did not hold it

前面是倒装，句子正常语序是their grip on Algeria would never be secure if .....

their grip是if条件句的主语，后面的it应该优先指代grip，而倒装之后，ALgeria离it更近，所以会有就近指代的歧意。
