讨教一下long term goal

申请YALE还没消息，看来是被毙了。本人技术出身，以前在制药业做管理，所以在long term goal里写希望回到中国领导一个制药企业，用十年的时间把成品药带到欧美主流市场，让美国的医生有机会处方中国的的成药。这样的意义是可以提供一种尝试去减轻美国health care的压力，同时给中国制造财富。举了一个实例，我们的一种原料药在美国市场上的成药售价增值了十倍，说明引入中国成药的竞争还是很有必要的。

其实这是我很真实的想法。因为还在继续申请其他学校，继续这样写我的goal。会不会在中国产品受到质疑和挑剔的今天，这样写会引起老美的反感？欢迎拍砖，我皮厚，接得住。

你说的对，但另一方面据说80%的MBA最后都没按照入学前的目标就业（也就是WHY MBA里的goal), ADCOM的也许习惯了看假的东西

Yale's health-care program is very good. I think your background may be a fit for Yale...

Not sure why you haven't got interview invitation yet. Wait a couple of days... Maybe you can get invitation before X'mas.

Thank iammad and htt456 for your comments. Yale's health care program is targeted to prestige professionals in health care sector of USA. It's hard to my because I have no experience and am not holding an important position in the USA. Anyway I am trying similar program in school of public health which is not very competitive.

here is a message from Yale adcom:

Every school reviews applications differently, so I can only speak for SOM. We truly invite up until the decision date (which is Jan. 18 for Round 1). If we invite you close to the deadline, you'll have time to come to campus or set-up an offsite interview before a final decision is made.
There's still over a month left in the round and we still have a lot of applications to review. I know it's hard to believe, but it's a very time consuming process so it really takes the whole round to properly review and make decisions on every application. Since we read applications in random order, the timing of an interview invitation isn't any reflection of the strength of someone's candidacy.
I hope this helps. I know this is a really stressful process and we're working as quickly as possible.

Many thanks. Actually I just read the transcript of BW chat between YSOM admissions director and applicants. (see below if interested). He said just on the half way of both application review and interview invitation. Yes it's hard to believe but I would like to take it.

BruceAtYale: Nomad83, we do our best to release decisions as soon as we can. We will try to release decisions before the holidays if we can, but most decisions will probably be released clse to the deadline.

TFA2MBA: I have read about your partnership with Teach for America. Would you recommend that Teach for America candidates apply directly out of the program, or gain other work experience before applying?

MichaelAtYale: I think the best advice is to apply when you feel ready! If you think Teach for America has given you the experience and skills you'll need to be successful in an MBA program, then applying directly out of the program is fine.

mfandrei: If you are looking to for a global career, is attending an international business school the best way to go?

BruceAtYale: On campus interviews are 30 minutes long and are conducted primarily by trained second-year students, although staff do do some as well. The purpose is to get a sesne of your background and experiences, why you want to get an MBA, and what you plan to do post-graduation.

MichaelAtYale: I think most business schools today have an "international" feel/focus - Yale has definitely moved strongly in this direction with our International Experience requirement. I know we have alumni working all over the world right now in a variety of fields, so Yale definitely prepares you for a "global" career.

gseattle: Hi Bruce - I am 40 yrs old and have more than 12 yrs experience in Bio tech industry. I am thinking of changing career from Medicinal chemistry to either finance or business development. For doing so, I am thinking of going to full time MBA. Do you have age limit in your school? Is it a wise idea to for full time mBA at 40 yrs? What about the career prospects?

MichaelAtYale: I'm an on-campus interviewer, and I try to write up my interview reports no later than 24 hours after the interview. It's important for me to make sure I write the report sooner rather than later so that I can remember the interview in great detail - otherwise, I feel like it's not fair to the candidate!

AbbyAtYale: Also, gseattle: Yale has a particularly strong Executive MBA program that is specifically designed for executives in the healthcare industry. This might be a suitable program for you if you are interested in the career switch you mention.

yeny: For the regular MBA are you eventually going to offer the option of studying abroad for a semester?

BruceAtYale: yeny, yes, we are working on rolling out a semester-long study abroad program starting next fall. We are looking to partner with select schools primarily in Asia and Europe at the outset, and then expand the program from there.

jokeram: Do the interviewers have access to the applicants file or do they go into the interview blind?

jokeram: Bruce, I have a 2 part question. 1. What percentage of applications have been reviewed? 2. What percentage of interview invites have been sent out?

MichaelAtYale: All we (as interviewers) know about the candidate prior to the interview is what's on their resume - we always let candidates know that up front so that they don't feel like they need to talk about "other" stuff not covered by their essays.

BruceAtYale: jokeam, we are roughly halfway through the applications at this point, and have probably sent out about that many interview invitations as well. It defintialy takes us the whole round to review applications and invite people to interview, so please be patient!
