Before putting forward an opinion, it is important to take a glance at the argument of both sides. Generally speaking, people who support the statement that university should provide the same amount of money to the sports activities as they give to the libraries claim that physical health and a good body is important for a student. As far as I am concerned, the main purpose of universities is education, so it is necessary to spend more money on the libraries.

It is true that if the universities spend the same amount of money on sports as the libraries would benefit for the students' health. Students can have more opportunities and more places to take exercises. Take my university as an example, the campus is too small to hold any sport meeting, and my university does not provide enough financial supports to the students' sports activities. No doubt, it is harmful to our physical health.

However, there is no enough reasons to spend the same amount money on sports as libraries. To begin with, the ultimate purpose of university is to cultivate well-educated talents for the society. In other words, the most important task for a university student is study knowledge. Therefore, universities should spare no efforts to provide the students a good learning environment and the library is one of the most important elements. Also take my university as an example, although there is no enough place to do exercises, there is a modern library in my university. Every time I been there, I feel comfortable and I am willing to study in this kind of atmosphere.

In addition, there are lots of places out of universities for students to take exercises and it is unnecessary for universities to spend a great deal of money on sport. For instance, there are numerous swimming pools, tennis courts and playground in my community. So, it is possible for us to hold some sports activities out of school, and in this way, we can also do not worry to disturb others who want a quiet environment to study.

To sum up, while sports activities are important for students, study is more important. Therefore, based on the analysis and reasons mentioned above, we can still finalize a conclusion, that is, it is unnecessary for universities to provide the same amount of money as they give to libraries.
