谢谢关注 请多多指教阿!! 65. Should historic buildings be preserved of be replaces with modern buildings?
It goes without saying that the issue of how to deal with historic buildings has cause wide public concern at present. There is a public debate today that whether historic buildings should be preserved or replaced with modern buildings. As the world is developing fast and fast, there is no enough space to build new buildings in the city. A lot of people consider that the old buildings, including some historic buildings, should be replaced with modern buildings. My point of view is absolutely against this way of thinking for there are at least three premier reasons contributing to it.
First and foremost, historic buildings should be preserved because they remind us the history of that period. Chairman Mao, one of China’s greatest leaders, who have brought China the Great Liberation, once said “forget about history means betray!” Those historic buildings in China lead us to know the history of Qing Dynasty. How did it come and go, from rise to fall. We will also know about the history of WW2 that when Japan’s empire army attacked China, blood and tears all around us, through visiting some places where the historic buildings ,part of which might be destroyed by Japan’ bombs, still be preserved by now. Those of the histories should we never forget. So historic buildings should be preserved for we can see the history clearly.
In addition, it is unfortunately that we saw the blood and tears histories through our bare eyes, so we remember them deep in heats. However, what about our offspring? How can they learn about the history, only by words in the books or just see some pictures? No! History needs to be proved. They need to see the history, feel the history and even touch the history! That’s why we preserve those historic buildings.
And what’s more? Not only history should be remembered, but also historic art should be preserved. Some historic buildings represent a kind of architectural achievements. So, they usually have high aesthetical value and historical value, such as the Big Ben in London, the Eiffel Tower in Paris and the Imperial Palace in Beijing. Destroying them would be a big loss to the society. Therefore, they should not be replaced with modern buildings. It is our forefather’s legacies which pass down and now into our hands. Needless to say, we should cherish them as our own fortune.
For us, it is our task to protect historic buildings. We should enhance the awareness of people that historic buildings are important to us, so that not to destroy them. Another equally important aspect is that we should appeal to our authorities to make strict laws to control the cities construction and to protect historic buildings. And finally, we should bring home to people the value of aesthetic and the knowledge of art represented by historic buildings.
So I believe, though our effort, historic buildings will never be harmed by man. 像这样的文章大概能得多少分阿??
