翻了以前的帖子，大多是讨论A选项的。我觉得E确实没有weaken，但是对D还是有疑问

(D) A weekly newspaper restricted to the coverage of local events is published in Town S.

为什么有一份报纸只报导当地新闻，就说the citizens of Town S are not better informed呢？那还有其他报纸呢，又没说所有的Town S的报纸都只报道当地新闻。

削弱只要减少原结论成立的可能性就可以了。

S城有一份报纸只报道当地新闻，不涉及国际新闻，就减少了the citizens of Town S are better informed about major world events 的可能性。

如果选项出成S城的所有报纸都只报道当地新闻，那么原结论成立的可能性就完全不存在了。
