hi, glad to join you guys finally.

I have chosen font in my application. but after reading shaoji's post, i'm thinking whether i should stay in singapore. Although going to font can help with international exposure, it seems the sg side also got good career perspective. in terms of living expenses, sg can be half that of font's.

the question is, is it possible to make the switch before school starts? Would it be better if i give practical reasons like living expenses, or career aspiration in asia? Thanks!

could you advice me whether Champagne Sur Seine is good convenient place to rent for study in terms of its living conditions such as surrounding restaurant, food, shopping for daily stuffs etc.  by the way, do you think 9km from Insead is convenient or not if I drive a car. I do not live far away from school but now the closest house is very expensive to rent now. thanks for advice.

I am preparing the application package and selecting recommenders. For current employer, consider my 2 bosses. One  boss is more familiar with me while spoken English is comparitively poor . The other has very fluent English. Their level are the same. 

My question: During the selection process, will the recommender be called for more information? If yes, the call will be made in English or local language.  My concern is If i choose the first boss, his spoken English may be a weakness. And any advice on how to choose the right recommender?

thanks nnm! definitely it's a pure personal decision. but your first-hand inputs about the pros and cons are very helpful. i'm going font primarily becoz France is too appealing but need to make sure it does not affect job hunting - even if i plan to come back to singapore afterwards.

They seldom call the recommenders as far as I know, so you don't need to worry about this issue! Good luck!

Model, in terms of distance, Champagne sur Seine is definitely not far from Fonty.  So of course, convenient enough by car.   Although I nevered lived there, I can say that non of the surrounding towns near Fonty is as convenient as Fonty, with maybe the exception of Barbizon if you are looking for dining options. Most students who live outside of Fonty drive to Fonty at least once a week to shop for groceries anyway.  The surrounding towns are definitely picturesque and quiet, with rivers flowing and trees abundant.  But that's pretty much all you get - rivers and trees, not too much shopping or dining options.
