well, just in my personal opinion, if we want to be associated with America society and have a place in it, then we need to not only talk, think like Aerican but also live like American, don't we?

Yes, you said that because you are not living in the state, or maybe not that long. Presumably some day you can talk, think like an American, but it is really hard to live like Americans - especially for our CDers here...

And by the way, you don't have to live in the White community to get into the american social circles. it is more about your personalities than anything else.

No, you need not, if you don't want to grab a opportunity in the States. But if you do, the logic is somewhat implcit: for most of the MBA occupations, you need to work like an American -> To work like a American, one convenient approach is to live like an American - Just as my friend said, you can hardly say you understand Chinese if you are just hanging around in SH or HK
