我也碰到这个问题,但从上下文判断,这个句子的大概意思应该是:

(尾巴产生的)推力使鱼身前进,而侧力则使鱼头与鱼尾保持方向一致...

水平有限, 翻不出"deviate from the course"的意思

To deviate from something means to start doing something different or not planned, especially in a way that causes problems for others.

我自己的话是：

Thrust makes the fish move forward. Lateral force makes fish's head move away from  the course. the head and the tail  are in the same direction.

我想没明白是因为词汇。 下面几个词你会了(是在此句中的意思），这句子你就明白了。

propel ---push

tend to do something ---always do something or do something again and again.

deviate from---turn away from  or change from

course---direction

如不对，请大家指出。

昨天做DELTA也看到这个了，，如果lz是题做错了的话 其实看下一句话就很容易选出来的This side-to-side head movement is very obvious in a swimming eel......   配合这句再看题的话D选项就比较容易了...（个人见解)

谢谢大家，现在明白了。原来理解成和tail方向相背离呢，以为那course和tail一样。
