A certain cultivated herb is one of a group of closely related plants that thrive in soil with high concentrations of metals that are toxic to most other plants.  Agronomists studying the herb have discovered that it produces large amounts of histidine, an amino acid that, in test-tube solutions, renders these metals chemically inert.  Possibly, therefore, the herb’s high histidine production is what allows it to grow in metal-rich soils, a hypothesis that would gain support if ______.

 

  1. histidine is found in all parts of the plant—roots, stem, leaves, and flowers
  2. the herb’s high level of histidine production is found to be associated with an unusually low level of production of other amino acids
  3. others of the closely related group of plants are also found to produce histidine in large quantities
  4. cultivation of the herb in soil with high concentrations of the metals will, over an extended period, make the soil suitable for plants to which the metals are toxic

偏向于C.

条件:

一种herb能在高金属浓度的土壤里存活.

该herb排出的histidine能降低金属元素的活性

结论:histidine是herb存活的原因.

C:同类植物也排出大量histidine,说明这是个共性,支持原结论.
D:种植该herb一段时间后,土壤变得适于其他作物生长. 这个结果有可能是histidine造成的,但也不尽然,有可能是因为经过一段时间后,金属元素被氧化,生成的东东不影响作物生长. 如果是后者,就没有support原结论.

故我认为C更好点.

文中说:组氨酸是 an amino acid that renders these metals chemically inert. 

而D中恰恰说,该植物将金属元素转化,从而使别的植物适于生长。

所以D is the answer。

在C中,相近的植物是指分类上相近,还是指基因相近,不得而知,就算是基因相近,那人和猪的基因还相近呢,所以基因相近的生物不意味着一定产生同种氨基酸。

D没有说到H那个化学物质

题目说A certain cultivated herb is one of a group of closely related plants that thrive in soil with high concentrations of metals

这个草是(集中生长在大量金属土壤中的)植物的一种

要证明的是the herb’s high histidine production is what allows it to grow in metal-rich soils

如果能有others of the closely related group of plants are also found to produce histidine in large quantities(A),加上条件a group of closely related plants that thrive in soil with high concentrations of metals (B),就能证明A-》B

C选项是此题的第一句话,表的是已知的现象,现象不能拿来又重新当论据吧?

本文的思路是这样:

现象:

   一组相关植物中的一种香草herb----在有毒土壤里长得好

        其他植物---------------在有毒土壤里长得不好

研究论据:

该香草组织中含有大量组氨酸----能够转化土壤中的有毒重金属物质

推理假设:

正是组氨酸的存在--------------使该香草能成活在重金属土壤中

问:假设的前提:

我以为:该“假设”是依据“研究论据”的得出的,

“论据”讲:组氨酸能转化金属,

与此同时D说,

转化金属后的土壤不含金属,

使其他植物存活,

刚好证明了:研究论据是准确的,从而证明了假设是准确的。

而C又重复了一篇此题的第一句,表明了其他植物也含组氨酸这一现象,没用。

C选项说的是能产生H化学物质,而文中第一句话说的是能在金属存活啊

其他的我再漫漫看,因为我已经被你说晕了

Herb是香草耶?不是化学物质

奥,川妹妹的意思是说组氨酸

可现在证明的是组氨酸能转化金属,

其他植物有没有组氨酸,都无关

恩,知道了,你是对的,答案应该是D

C应该是说这一堆植物里的其他除HERB以外的东东,这样就有可能削弱原结论,而不是说其他的一堆植物

呵呵,看了好几个帖子,这里是纠结C/D,还有人纠结C/E,我还是支持C,扩大样本范围支持结论。其实重复原文的某句话有时候本身就是加强,说明的确是这么回事。
