Jennifer:  Video rental outlets in Centerville together handled 10,000 fewer video rentals in 1994 than in 1993.  The decline in rentals was probably due almost entirely to the February 1994 opening of Videorama, the first and only video rental outlet in the area that, in addition to renting videos, also sold them cheaply.

Brad:  There must be another explanation:  as you yourself said, the decline was on the order of 10,000 rentals.  Yet Videorama sold only 4,000 videos in 1994.

你知道我逻辑不好的，不过这题我的确做过，不是在PREP里，应该是在KAPLAN里遇到的，KAPLAN有解释，但不是很详细。

A是无关对比，而且也不能说明什么，卖了4000，租的比卖的多，试想，如果租的是5000，是不能weaken的，因为少租了10000。

我不太会讲，希望你明白。

和skyzhang的理解有一点不相同的是，我不认为Video rental outlets in Centerville together
        handled 10,000 fewer video rentals in 1994 than in 1993表示的是'少了10000次的租借是包括V这家商店的'，因为together我以为是C's total decline.Anyway，这只是个人的理解。

闹闹的解释我看懂了(开心你又回到坛子里搭救俺们了)，A是maybe yes or no的weaken.即使rental:5000+sold:4000=9000，还是不能解释为什么少了10000.

嗯？ 我们说的是一个意思啊。

Together是意味着整个地区的店下降了10000次，那整个地区当然是包括A店、B店、C店、D店和V这家店的（题后面说了the first and only video rental outlet in the area）所以V这家店肯定是在C这个地区里面的啊。

正因为整体下降是包括V的，才使得A不能削弱削弱。

另外我觉得，Brad是反对说rent和sell无关。Jennifer则说有关。A没有说明两者之间的关系。只有E说到了rent和sell的关系。

J: C城影碟出租店1994年的租碟数量比1993年下降了10，000次。下降的原因主要是当地唯一的一家租碟店V开业时，除了出租碟片外还将碟片便宜出售。

B：应该还有其他解释。因为正如你所说，租碟量少了10，000次，而V店1994年才卖出4，000张碟。

E说买碟的人通常会把碟借给朋友。言外之意，虽然只卖了4,000张碟，但实际上减少的租碟量比这个要多，因为那些本来要去租碟的人现在可以从朋友那里借到。

反对者的逻辑是卖的比租的少，所以租量减少不是因为卖的。题目让我们削弱这个结论。A说租的比卖的多，其实是在加强。
