Get a higher G/T score and ask more ppl to look at your essays, especially ppl who are from top b-schools. With your background, you deserve more than UCSD. Once you're here, you will realize how important the school brand name is.
That's why you have to work on your essays. There are definately a lot of ppl with similar background as yours. You have to ask yourself: why or how am I different from my peers? Again, you worry too much about your age. You are still within the 80% range for most top schools. With 2 more years experience than average, if you cannot show how you are better than others in your firm, how can you expect the adcom to tell and admit you?
30 yrs old is not realy old, and your background is solid. what you need is:
1, a higher score, it's true more and more applicants with over 700 or 720+. if you want take a seat in top 30 with full scholarship, you must have a score of 740+.
2, your essays, in this case, if BU rejected you, your essays are not good enough. just review and think about it again.
BU provides feedback of your application. I emailed them and got the feedback. I applied to 5 schools, BU was the only one putting me on the WL, but the schools that I applied to are in the same tier with BU.
Something must be wrong with your application. I don't think your GMAT score is the only problem. You may need to figure out what the problem is.
我的信心被打击到了极点，尤其是接到了BU的ding信之后，连waitlist都没有，就是直接ding. I already sent emails to 4 other schools including BU. I will post the feedback here, so that others with similar backgrounds could avoid my mistakes in application.
I was extremely upset but warmed up by the friendship here in CD. And some friends sent messages to me to encourage me. I am really touched.
I will give myself another chance to face the challenge. Thank you all dear friends here.
