OSU is a great school, but losing professors over the years...David
Hirshleifer has left for UC Irvine. If Rene Stulz truly leave it for
USC this summer, then it basically has NO famous active professors...On
the contrary, USC is much better in terms of researchers because it recently recruited
many excellent professors such as Wayne Ferson, Ravi Jagannathan and the two DeAngelos. LA is also a big plus! So definitely wait for
USC!

BTW, I've also sent you a message in your CD mailbox. Please check it! Cong again!

工作这么好据的啊，貌似我同学们签的公司要据的话好像都要给违约金吧。

I accepted the job offer by phone, no any paper work.

I actually emailed them asking to see the contract right after I accepted it, but no reply...(strange). So I've never seen the contract, let alone signing it.

Later, I phoned them and turned off the offer. End of story.

It's a good company, full of good and considerate people.

A final request, could some other insiders like luckyocean give me some sought of comparison between USC and OSU? Thx first.

In exchange, I could share something I know about UW.

UW admits 3 per year, with an assistantship of $27000 for 12 months.

The admission UW's program is almost totally in charged by Tony Whited. My personal feeling is, Tony welcomes students from, say, not so famous universities. There are two students from such universities in last two years. So if you think your university doesn't have a big name, you should put UW to your application list.

UW-Madison (as well as U Iowa) is a typical state-own university, big and wide. If you don't like crowded city like me, UW-Madison is a good place to stay for 4 years. The B-School is located even better. It's a couple blocks away from State Street, the main resteraut street of Madison. Two blocks away, there's a gym center with good swimming pool. Within the B-school, the Actuarial &RMI department and accounting department is a big deal. Maybe you can take advantage of it if your have some related research interest. The economics qualification at the end of the first year is a tough one,so pay extrem attention to those advanced econ classes that you gonna take within the first year.

Well, that's all I can think of now.
