Duke和INSEAD，选择哪个offer?迷茫中。。。

本人是DUKE MBA二年级的，马上毕业了。看着这位兄弟的问题，来说几句。

（1）DUKE MBA在美国还是可以的拉，虽然不如其本科（top 5)那么有名，商学院好歹算个top 10。DUKE篮球当然是个老美都会谈起。
（2）那位兄弟的入学年龄也不小了，两年的时间是很漫长。但是，一年的MBA的确是感觉不到能学到什么东西。如果追求越快越好，那还是INSEAD好了。如果是一心想进consulting,也选INSEAD吧。
（3）如果想在其他行业，比如marketing, general management, finance等，DUKE的优势还是明显的。
（4）关于两年后的工作情形，谁也说不清楚。世界经济如果不发展了，中国经济如果完蛋了，工作在哪都不会好找。可是，这些都不是自己能控制的东西，所以在做决定的时候就不要考虑了。考虑一下长远的问题吧。
(5) 有人说，DUKE是白人的天下，就不要去了。拜托了，美国哪里不是白人的天下，尤其是商学院这种地方，黑人的势力还赶不上中国人，美国的任何一个商学院也基本都是这样的。而且没有哪个国家的人会比美国人多，毕竟这是老美的地盘。就象你在中国，你期望外国人会比中国人多吗？如果你期待着去一个中国人有绝对优势的地方，那还是呆在国内好了。

After I interviewed by Joewu, a Duke alumni from Shanghai, I have a very bad impression of Duke MBA. Later I got a Darden alumni interview, the guy was much much more friendly and helpful than Duke one. I appreciated his effort even I may get denial from Darden.

Actually there are so many Chinese students in Duke MBA, and I found the Duke alumni in Shanghai is so so...

sorry to know your experience. but please don't generalize from one individual case. Duke MBA is still a young program and those alumi who chose to return to China just started their career in China and will take some time for them to grow.

Sometimes, interview is conducted as a stress test, the interviewer whom you don't like may recommend you to the program, and those interviewers whom you like very much may don't feel you are qualified.

You will get to know the definition for NIU REN and meet them after you break into industries like MC/IB/PE/VC/IM/HF.  In your low profile industry, you dont even have the chance to work with/work for them.

想留美国就去duke,

其它地方去INSEAD.

学校本身的话, INSEAD的历史悠久, 是传统的欧洲第一, world top-10,

Duke还年轻

至于一年是不是够, 见仁见智; 不过既然这么多世界顶级的公司, 这么多年一直认可, 自有它的道理, 不是我辈能够妄然置喙的.

hi bro, easy, you don't have to attact other people's industry background, right? Even if you have offer from kkr/tpg, so what? do you really think you are at the top of the world? I would regard Nobel Prize winners, Academy Award Best Directors NIU REN, even they don't work for PE. Every role in this society is important.

I am sorry you had horrible experience with the duke alum, but you know there are outliers in this world.... some people had really good experience with Duke and some encountered a-hole interviewer with Darden (source: lan mm's experience with Darden).
