My concern is that if your aim for NYU is to switch to finance, have you to tell the school in the essays or just tell them another story - for improvement in your current area? Which is better? thanks

Consider long term cashflow and job placement. Yes, this is the opportunity cost, but the return is much higher. Be confident about your future.

Suggest you apply schools first, see how many offers you can get, and then compare the offers. Take actions!

tell reasonable stories with your passion.  you have to face interviews. make sure your story make sense. admission officers have lots of experience.

经过近一个月的精心筹备以及一个星期的突击排练，大中国区的斯特恩商学院同学在今天下午的护照日展会上上演了精彩的演出。演出包括舞狮，女子单人舞，以及最后压轴大戏中国古典民间服装秀.

首先出场的舞狮秀，从华埠邀来友情客串的舞狮队，在“男儿当自强”的伴奏中左冲右突，吸引了不少眼球。

之后是台湾同胞的民间舞演出，以闹花灯音乐作为伴奏，让人们在激情的舞狮表演后心旷神怡.

最后上场的是服装秀。在众志成城，集思广益下，我们编排出了一整套的演出。中国的男同胞们向世界人民展示了中华文化多姿多彩的传统泡妞手段，女同胞们也尽显东方女性婀娜多姿的一面，以旗袍加洋伞的经典组合博得阵阵喝彩.

同时我们一举将大陆，台湾，香港两岸三地的展台拼在一起，取得了祖国形式上的统一。展台的布景与食物的准备更加是美轮美奂，色味俱佳.

这一次的护照日表演，是史无前例的成功，在这次国际比赛中取得了独一无二的压倒性的胜利！

suggest you choose on-campus dormitory first. Palladium studio is $1600/month. you can also choose to live off campus, other areas in Manhattan, Jersy sity or queens. Ranging from 800~1000.

Hey, guys. I am a new comer to this forum. It's really nice to see you guys are so so friendly and helpful.

I am thinking of applying for Stern's part-time program coz I don't have time to go for a full time program. I work in Merrill Lynch as a quantitative analyst for markting. Since my office is in NJ, I am really interested in knowing more people in NYC, either professionals or future Wall Streetees like your guys. Do you guys usally go to places like bar or club at weekend? or just too busy with coursework? :-)

Mentulau,我不是很清楚学校第三轮会招多少人，但通常来讲前面两轮的机会比较大些。你没有面试直接被wl, 不一定是哪方面弱，也有可能是与你相似背景的人已经招满。对你来讲最重要的是争取到面试的机会，可以通过增加推荐信或者essay，并经常和学校联系表明你的commitment。你在芝加哥，去纽约还是比较方便的，相对国内的申请人来讲挺有优势，加油加油！
