Wharton seems to prefer green hands this year.  Those who have been dinged have at least 5 years working experience.  My w/e is 7 years.

Don't agree. My friend and I have 8 years W/E, however both got interview invitation.

forget wharton, buddies! that may not suit u.I got ding too: G770,w/e 11 years, and thought that my essays are not bad. relax,hope everyone has a happy new year!

I think luck really matters. Those who get interviewed are not necessary better than those who do not in term of application package. Who knows what the people from admission committee think about your application material. It is a very subjective thing. For us, we really care about the application, but the admission committee people do not really care. Do not think that they all do their jobs professionally.

Don't froget that Wharton are also looking for diversity, they certainly do not want 800 students with simlilar background. And Thomas said, some Chinese applicants overprepared themselves. It's hard to see their weaknessese, the perfect applicants may not need a MBA. Believe it or not, that's what he said in an interview with Chinese media.
