statistic and statistics

填了n份online-application, 打了n份推荐表，才发现…… 推荐表上都写的statistic, 而统计系似乎应该是 Dept. of Statistics....

有没有必要重新打印重新找老师签字呢

Statistic isn't the right word.  They may not notice it though.

A numerical value, such as standard deviation or mean, that characterizes the sample or population from which it was derived. One viewed as a nameless item of statistical information: got laid off and became another statistic in the slumping economy. sta·tis·tics   (stə-tĭs'tĭks)  n.                                (used with a sing. verb) The mathematics of the collection, organization, and interpretation of numerical data, especially the analysis of population characteristics by inference from sampling.
