各位,这是本人的处子作,写得不怎么样,请大家来评评,指点一下,我十二月十六号就要考了,现在作文跟口语很烦,阅读和听力相对较好,不过不太稳。。。唉 作文题:big city or small town There is a popular topic in my country about whether to live in a big city or in a small town, which has caused heated debate for a long time. Personally, it is hasty to say that living in a big city is better than in a small town, and vice verse. Both of these options have their relative benefits. Living in a big city has several benefits. First, there are more job opportunities available than that in a small town, as the majority of companies prefer to set up their headquarters, subsidiaries, or their sales departments in a big city. And the average salary is more decent in a big city. Also, there are more chances of promotion in big cities for all hard-working employees. Second, lives in a big city is exciting. After a day's exhausting work, people can relax themselves in various ways, including going to a movie, playing bowling, or enjoying a meal for exotic flavor. Compared to the lives in a big city, lives in a small town is tedious. Moreover, big cities can offer best schools, hospitals, stores and other facilities, from which people, especially children, can obtain more benefits, as better education, medical services, and food is essential for children's growth.
However, Living in a small town also have some advantages. It is true that big cities can provide much convenience and entertainment. But just think of the places in big cities: full of gasoline odors and toxic gases, torn by the roar of buses and lorries day and night, and thronged ceaselessly by crowds. In contrast, living in a small town one can enjoy the clean atmosphere, the peaceful and quite surroundings, which is essential for our physical and even mental health. In addition, people can live a cozy life due to less working stress in a small town. Although the salary in small towns is lower, but the expense is lower as well. For example, the cost of renting a department occupied 30 square meters in Beijing is more than 1000 RMB for a month, which is enough for one to live a simple life in a small town for a month. Also the price of daily necessaries, such as meat, fruit, and vegetable, is usually less expensive. The educational facilities is not so good, but children is more healthy mentally, due to the better hamonious relationship among residents. According to my current situation, although I am longing to the cozy atmesphere and the hamonious relationship which alomst exist in a small town, I have still chosen to live in one of the most biggest cities in China-- Guangzhou since I want to take pains to earn money as much as possible for my future life. After my retirement, I might live in a small town to enjoy the cozy and peaceful life.
