no, you do not have to. besides the ways olivia told you guys, the most effective way is, i am serious, really, do not laugh, since i think a lot of new students get their furniture by this, that is, to look for something useful beside a lovely place- garbage tank. if you can arrive before august, i bet you can collect all you need there. some of them are just thrown by residence moving out, so they are clean and still usable.

believe me, it is not difficult to find a nice place to keep this kind of mails- i have a big trash can beside my desk. of course you could pay for it after you arrive and it is no reason to ask you pay before that.

actully i think mbaa is a kind of profitable organization, so if they find out you do not waste your money like others, they will follow you all days like an annoying puppy.

by the way, i sacrificed my money last year, and i am not saying you should not do so. i am saying they still have some potential to improve.

I am writing to ask for your help in preparing for the China Night that will happen on September 28 this year.  As you know, every year Kelley has two ethnic nights that students from respective countries will organize the event to entertain the entire Kelley MBA community.  This year it will have a China Night and an India Night. While we are about three months away from the event date, I feel that we need to start gathering ideas now and accomplish some tasks, such as buying some decorative stuff from Mainland China or Taiwan, before we go back to school.  

 

A brief introduction of how the event works:
                

1.  Kelley MBA students from the respective ethnic group will be responsible for the entire event.

2.  MBAA office will fund the spending first but ultimately the event expenses are paid off by ticket selling.

3.  Event location has been always at the Field's.

 

At this stage, we are looking for volunteers to the following functional teams:

 

1.  Entertainment:   responsible for stage performances and programs

2.  Logistics:  responsible for field house rental, equipment rental, stage setup, food, and event safety

3.  Communication:  responsible for advertising, photography, ticket printing and ticket selling

4.  Finance: responsible for overall budget and coordinate the reimbursement process as needed

 

We are also seeking your ideas on how to make this event fun and meaningful.  Things that we may want to start thinking now are:

 

1. What kind of decoration do we need, where do we get it?

2. What kind of music do we play,

3.  What kind of games do we provide

4.  Gift ideas to the winners

5. Food ideas

6. Advertising poster, ticket design

7.  All others that you can think of

  

Please email Ling or Agnes your interest in the functions.  I will send out the team member list once I get some response from you.

就是去中国银行开汇票，receiver是自己的名字。到美国后开一个账户，把汇票的钱存进去。好像一星期左右到账。
