Anyone has experience in IU's music school? Either attend a concert or a party or even choose a course? Can students from other IU schools use its music practice room freely?

do not worry about that, or excited for that. this question has been asked thousands times by admitted students each year. mba students do not neet to participate this kind of exam. but music school has the toughest english exam for some people from asia. coz you guys need to know how to communicate with musicians accurately.

kidding, nobody need to take such an exam

Hi,hylrd, I am wondering if it makes sense to buy the copy versions of our test books in China.(影印版课本) It is said the text books are very expensive in the states. Will you give us a list of this, including the version no., publishing house and etc? Or what suggestions will you give to us? Thanks.

first, it is not easy to find a proper one in china. second, it is so sensitive if you use a copy version in classes. i think you know what i mean. last year, we, almost all china students bonded together, counter-attacked some rumor about counterfeit condition in china. but it is still sensitive now. actually the original does not cost so much: you can buy an used one in Amazon, or even from second year students. and you can sell it when you become a second year. speaking of the list, i think you can find it in your admission package. or kelley will send you soon. it is different each year.

The admission package really have four books, but it listed in the contents of Jump Class. So I'm not sure if these are text books for jump class only or for core courses later. I've inquired KSB and havn't got answer yet. So would you share your opinion first?

you mean you are nervous by asking my questions? i am glad to hear that. at least, i am not nervous, but exited.

i think the text you mentioned is for both jump start and core lessons.

The point I would like to raise is that copy versions are not pirated but authorized by certain book agents to publish in China!  However it is still good to hear that almost all China students bonded together to fight some illusive myths about China.

By the way I like the high sensitivity of many of the American instruments.

hi, thanks for your compliment. apparently, i am delighted by that. actually, we need to do as much as we can to make chinese community at iu a family. although there might be some problems or even conflicts, (you might hear some of those shits after you arrive here) i believe everybody wants to have some brilliant and warm memory years later.

speaking of what happened last year, it is a nice story. if you like, i can tell you that after you come here. we second year students plan to hoste a big welcome party for you new guys.

surely i know the difference between the pirated and copy versions. what i meant was it is not easy to make others understand such a difference.
