WHARTON R1 拒了.. COLUMBIA 是我唯一一个另外想去的学校.. 请大家给我点建议...万分感谢中.....

人背景:  G 750, T 免了, 大学GPA3.6, 美国拿到BIOSTATISTICS PHD, GPA 4.0.. 4 YEARS 
working experience in leading pharmaceutical company after Ph.D...
我是CAREER CHANGER.. 希望POST-MBA 能做VENTURE CAPITAL 方面的工作, 结合自己的技术背景和MBA
学到的东西做一些BIOTECH 方面的START-UP 的工作..... 在WHARTON 的申请中我也是这样写的...
但现在看来可能申请STRATGY 方面有些失误.. 美国这边是一个很讲究背景的地方...我直接从PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANY
过渡到VC 可能比较突兀.... 所以虽然INTERVIEW了, 但没有拿到OFFER.. . 我之前曾经去WHARTON VISIT 过,
当时一个美国人给我说申请方向并不重要, 先尽量拿到OFFER , 进去了之后在仔细了解各个方向, 确定目标.., .......
我觉得以自己的背景, 如果当时申请PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANY 管理方面的更容易成功, 想请较大家的意见??

COLUMBIA 申请材料现在在准备中, 但一直很彷徨...., . 其实自己还是想以后做FINANCE.(IB, HF)... 但我不是FINANCE 背景,
所以申请会很困难... 现在我申请的STRATGY 应该怎么定比较容易拿到ADMISSIION? 哥大的校友们给我点意见吗?
我下周四要去哥大VISIT, 平时也可以去纽约(我在NJ).. 如果哪位校友有时间能不能见面聊一聊... 不胜感激中...我的EMAIL:

everyone, please help on the following for Columbia regular round interview. on campus interview.  Should I choose ealier time slot or later.

(9:30, 10:15, 11:00, 12:30, 1:15, 2:00)

is there a difference, and is the interview will be with different current students or one curretn student.   Any input would be very helpful.

Hi, could someone provide more advice on interview in Columbia, I got on-campus for tri-state super saturday, 1/26

I have prepared the question, Why MBA, about 3-4 mins, seems too long, not sure what it is like to answer this question, and how long, I am really not convinced myself on this question yet.   Is it really conversational talk?    I have been so many job interviews, but not school interview.  Help.

Why MBA, do I need to go over my experience, achievement and saying but what I am lacking is ...., and if I need to say how Columbia MBA will help me to reach my future goal.   Really confused, should it be short, a couple sentences?

Go throught all the posts of Columbia interview on CDs, which covered most of the questions they will ask you. For each question, answer it directly in the first sentence. My suggestion about length is no more than 1-2 minutes. They will ask you more questions if they are intereted in or confused by your answer.

You should ask a friend to do a mock interview. then you will be more confident.

Most of us were interviewed by alumni, not on campus. But I think the questions will be pretty same. Good luck!

Thanks again.  I talked to a couple friends, seems interview is not that scary.  Just be yourself.  Well, I have to find what it is myself first.  Need to prepare for more.
