I think the "applicants" in red means the total applicants, not the admits. However, I don't think they will disclose the exact figure. There are some common misunderstandings about Kellogg. First, Kellogg is ONLY a marketing school. As I said before, Kellogg is a well-rounded school. Sometimes, its strength in marketing overshadows its strength in other areas. One thing many ppl don't know is that the most popular major at Kellogg is usually finance not marketing, and more ppl go to consulting every year than to marketing. Second, Kellogg is not friendly to Chinese applicants. The school definately realizes the importance of China, and wants to admit more Chinese students. But apparently, it could still do better. (We will try our best to push the school to keep working on that.) But if you compare Kellogg with other M7 schools, the ratio of total applications and final admits should be similar. Third, Kellogg only likes ppl with consulting background. You can tell that it's not true from the background of this year's admits. Besides, b-school is all about diversity. Since there are many applications with consulting background, it's actually easier for you to stand out with a different background.
