Perhaps, now, very little is known about the life of an earlier teacher back century ago. So, it might be interesting for those who fascinate a teacher’s role as a professional career to appreciate how the life for a teacher looks like and differs from what it is now. Teachers are now, enjoying great freedom, and are considered as one of the jobs has maximum free-time.

However, it was not so a century ago.  Very few people can imagine that teachers led a very strict life in the history. Some of the facts revealed here might make you happier to think of being a teacher in present time in comparing with what it was in earlier 20 century in Europe.

Apart from those basic roles that teacher played in their daily duties, Teachers enjoy very almost zero freedom in their personal life, nothing can be compared with what a teacher might enjoy nowadays. The life of teacher as mentioned, was very strict both in and outside school, they were, to very strict extent, asked to obey various roles, for example, no dyed hair, no shortened skirts above ankle. So, the conduct of a teacher was very severely regulated by those rules set within the school.

More than that, even the life after school also falls within tight regulations such as, no smoking, no bar-going, even, can you imagine, there was say, of no standing ice-cream bar in the street either. If, as a teacher you had no problem with those requirements for your personal behaviors, yet could you withstand no late than eight o’clock in the night?

Don’t be surprised, there was another fact that those teachers in earlier 20’s century were even not allowed to marry, and had to ask for permission if they wanted to travel outside of the town.

Now, when picturing the teachers’ life  back in earlier 20 century in Europe, we can now imagine how courageous those people were in a decision to step onto a path to be a educator and to sacrifice own personal freedom.

How lucky we are now, from what we learnt, we may not surprised to know, how the life for a teacher changed, and how attractive to be a respected teacher and enjoy greatest freedom in private life. No wonder, as news revealed, more than 60% percentage of students studying in their universities are longing to be a teacher as a profession in planning their future career.
