TWE 076 Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Children should begin learning a foreign language as soon as they start school.

With the development of my country,China,more and more international corporations come to invest in recent years.At the same time, people realize that English is one of neccessities to be successful in the future.We may see many foreign language training center begin to expand their enrollment,especially for as little as first grade pupils.Do you think it is advisable to teach children a foreign language as soon as they start school?When asked about this question,I would in support of the idea.

To learn a foreign language as early as possible will benefit children in several aspects. The most attractive point is their good memory for learning. Statistic figures show that a 10-year-old boy can memorize 100 words a day! While a 20-year-old young man can only remenber 60 words a day. It seems as if there were a memory card in one's brain,when he or she is a child,the card has large amount of space to store.As he or she grows older, the spare space of the card become more and more limited.Therefore,for a foreign language learner,to start it the ealier,the better.

Another obvious aspect is that children's not beening afraid of making mistakes is helpful to learn a foreign language. An old adage holds that the more wit,the less courage.Since children have more courage to learn,they are more accessible to learn the foreign language.For instance,some English teachers state that most students yonger than 10 years old are active to practice speaking, while the adult students,on the contrary,are shy to show their presentation in front of others.It's clear to distinguish who will improve their speaking English more quickly.

Furthermore,the pupils who are at lower grade have more time to start a foreign language.Since the education gets more complex and difficult,children have to take the tension from study.When they go to higher grade or attend to middle school,they do not have enough energy to start a new language,as there are many subjects,including maths,physics,biology,chemistry,geography for them to cover.Hence,it's a good period to start learning a forieign language as soon as they start school,so as to have much time to master the fondamental knowledge.

Taking into account of all these factors,it is advisable to learn a foreign language as soon as pupils start school.I believe the old saying that as you sow earlier,you can harvest earlier.Since no one want to be left behind others,why not start it earlier?

有点造做,不自然. 词汇量好象还可以，不过很多词汇都不是北美文章的核心词汇．所以看着略显别扭　行文显生硬．
