A recent alum here, from Class 2006. I provided some full-time job placement info in my post dated back to Feb. 2006. (link: http://forum.chasedream.com/dispbbs.asp?BoardID=13&ID=153566&replyID=&skin=1) Here's what I wrote then: "截止目前(毕业前5个月),90%的中国大陆背景二年级学生已经“落实了工作单位”,且基本都是通过学校的career service找到的,也就是on-campus interview或者corporate relations。较完全的去向统计(俺是做FBI的包打听):Banking 32%, Consulting 23%, Other financial services 27% (Sales & Trading, Equity Research, Investment Management等), Corporate 18% (General Management, Strategy, Corporate Finance)。" The mix of industries/functions may have changed a bit since the remaining 10% got offers later. But it still should give you some idea about where we're heading to. As for Class 2007 info, I'll leave to mba2007 to answer. But he/she may have a better idea after fall recruiting is done (around end of year.) ----------------------------------------------- Life in Chicago GSB: well, I guess you can choose to have as much fun as possible. Parties, happy hours, dinners, poker nights...especially during non-recruiting seasons. You will complain about not having enough time. Of course, the city is not an ideal place for the outdoor type, who will find the long cold winter hard to endure. But otherwise, you will surely find things to fill up your weekday nights and weekends. ----------------------------------------------- Application rounds: I heard last year the number of applications received went up by 30% or higher. So whichever round you apply, it's gonna be very competitive. So just apply when you feel ready, no need to worry about who you are competing with, because you can always make yourself "one of a kind" by highlighting your unique qualities. For the procrastinating type (like myself), try to aim earlier than later, to give yourself some flexibilty. For international students, avoid waiting till round 3 when most of the slots are filled. |
