My career perspective focuses on Finance & analytical elements. Beside these, I would like to choose another focus area, I am wondering among these areas: Econometrics and Statistics, Economics, Entrepreneurship, General Management, Human Resource Management, International Business, Managerial and Organizational Behavior, Marketing Management, Operations Management, Strategic Management. Do you all have any ideas of which alternatives worth to pick from the list? Thank you! Just share some personal perspectives and hope will help: 1) Don't feel obliged to label yourself with concentrations, although it's easy to get 2 majors here. 2) If you want to run after concentrations, try to figure out your driver--is it purely out of your personal interest, or it's driven by the need of "marketing my resumee" 3) If it's your personal interest, congratulations, you can literarily go after any class you want...you can even skip foundamental requirements if you feel comfortable. Flexibility is the biggest bless of Chciago as I find out, which does not mean a lot before I join here. My strategy is to choose really good professors. If you r a really quant guy, trying out Eugene Fama or Kevin Murphy... 4) If it's career driven, then you might not want to pursue banking life with 6 electives on Organizational Behavior science (having said that, the leadership class and the class on social networks are excellent!). Rather you may find concentrations on Accounting and Finance very helpful. 5) Try to talk to more people after get in--might be the best way to figure out your strategy. 6) My favorite is accounting, which unfortunately is not on your list... Good luck!
