Yale SOM has begun to accept this year's applications. This year's essays are exactly the same as the last year's. The first essay is a traditional one: Why MBA and Why Yale? Career goal? Career progress? Limited to 500 hundred words. The second one is very flexible. You can develop your own topic and write anything you desire. Also limited to 500 hundred words. I would like to point out that don't worry about the word limit. You can definitely write up to 600 hundred words. Trust me! In my view, applicants must seriously explore Yale SOM's value and the new core curriculum. You can find the relevant information from SOM's website. BTW, don't view SOM as a non-profit management school. Actually, many students want to pursue their careers in IB. In mid January every year, there is a "super week", during which many Wall Street banks come to campus for internship recruitment. SOM invites as many banks as possible, including Merrill Lynch, UBS, Citigroup, etc. The recruitment lasts four days during which three rounds interview are conducted. Four SOM students made use of this opporutnity and interned in Merrill this summer, and all have been offered a full-time position. |
