This is an important question you would face. As for the MBA program and SOM, you may consider the new curriculum, the school's mission (what does accountability mean to you), the small size, the close-knit community, etc. Don't forget that as an SOM student, you belong to the whole Yale University, which will be a valuable resource you could make use of. 

SOM is strong at finance and general management.

好多学校的finance and GM都比较强，可惜本人做financial management(财务管理，不是IB,consulting, VC),目标成为公司的CFO. 请问你知道那些排名(eg:FT,BW)有没有按照concentration排的？因为我怕我的career goal似乎和yale的强项不符，降低我的录取机会。当然，我读GM，finance也无所谓。

各个学校都要招收各种类型的学生。而且MBA是一个系统教育，不是职业培训班，别想得太窄了。

同样学金融学管理，可以去做公司财务，也可以做股票分析员，也可以做财政部官员，也可以去国际组织。

Yale seems to prefer applicants with long work experience, but it doesn't mean every applicant should work five years. For this year's mainland China admits, three have 5 years of work experience while one has just worked for 3 years. It is quality that makes point.
