文中没有提国企，描述的是英国政府占大部分股份的企业，所以也不是伊朗国企。

大家不防去对照一下OG10里有一题, 说大帝入侵了一个什么寺庙, 把寺庙.....and used it as ......前面也有个动词, 忘记是哪个了. 我在出差, 回去找到贴出来, 看OG10对这个AND连接两个动词关系的解释, 跟上面这题是一样的.

D 肯定不对, MAKE跟前面APPEAR没有意思上的可以平行的关系

E肯定不对， TO表达了目的性, 这句话用E会引起很大歧义.

还有, 这里INFLATE是用做动词过去式, 不是形容词.

我觉得这个和我们讨论的句子的情况有所不同~~因为如果用made的话就有歧义~~made是和eliminated平行还是和inflated平行还是和would平行?

而用to的话就刚好避免了歧义,OG里面有很多用介词代替动词,以及用短语消除名词修饰时的歧义的例子,因此这道题目我还是觉得应该选E

I think the answer has to be D.  There is no way E can be correct, since it makes it sound as if the purpose of the airbag is to let the passenger think that the car was on fire.

同意leo2的说法。

大家根据逻辑推断, make sb think ...的逻辑主语一定是a burst of smoke，因为只有smoke才会让人想到car on fire。答案是D，appear and make是并列关系。when the bag inflated是appear的时间状语。

E答案中 to make 放在inflated后面有歧义，inflate to make 逻辑错误。即使说appear to make，用to make做appear的目的状语，逻辑上也说不通。

再说说这道题的结构，unlike是个对比结构，对于previous air bags 来说，bag 膨胀时要冒烟，并让一个吓坏的乘客觉得车着火了，appear和make passenger think这两个动作一定是并列关系，冒烟并不是为了让乘客觉得车在着火。而现在新的air bag ( a safer air bag)就排除了上面说的情况，也就是说新air bag膨胀时不会冒烟，所以就不会让乘客觉得车在着火。
