My encyclopedia says that the mathematician Pierre de Fermat died in 1665 without leaving behind any written proof for a theorem that he claimed nonetheless to have proved.

阴影部分什么结构，nonetheless在这是什么用法，不定式的又是怎么回事，不理解啊？
