答案选E没有问题,但是想明确一下,



因为 OG这样解释:The hypothesis has two parts: first,that intense use does not bring material changes that cause the string to go dead and, second, that dirt and oil do cause the phenomenon.



则:这个答案对不对, Determining whether intense use of guita would lead to changes in the material properties of the string.若试验的结果是N,则为加强,若试验的结果是Y,并不是个削弱,请问这种类型的答案是对的吗? 给出解释。谢谢。

Having an experiment result of Y does weaken the argument, which states that the change in material property is not responsible for the final result.

但是 感觉 这两个 方面 应都是 hypothesis 的一部分,


题目说:hypothesized that dirt and oil, rather than changes in the material properties of the string, were responsible.


所以 还是有些不清楚?

我认为 f 他 既可以 weaken, intense use of guita would lead to changges ,也可以 support , intense use of guita not lead to changes, but for other reasons ---maybe dirt and oil.   

难道 ,rather than changes in material properrties of the string 不是 他的一个hypothesis 吗?

"Rather than" means "not".

同意yaoyao99。


因果关系题,作者在对果提出原因时,就是假定这是唯一原因。所以Intense use是因,则Oil and dirt就不会是因,反之亦然。
