May 22, receive result: 4.0, no change. USD 45 wasted.

Kind of overstated, I think. AWA has time constraint and essay doesn't, and school not only receive the AWA score but the AI/AA articles written by the applicants.

Anyway, it is true that AWA won't carry a big weight.

I think no one knows exactly how seriously schools would take AWA. Once I posted an article regarding writing section of new SAT, and I suspect it might also be applied to GMAT.
