Accounting P.H.D Application question

I got some questions about the P.H.D application.  The following is my background. I got 690 on the GMAT, and my GPA is 4. I am going to find out an area of accounting I am interested in. I want to start my P.H.D in fall 2007.

1 How do you guys find out what areas you are interested in?

2 How do you guys narrow down schools?

i suggest you to take GMAT again if u seriously consider to get in a top 50 program. something around or above 720 will be much better.

read some academic papers to find out your own interests and check the profile of the current phd students to find out the gap between their bachground and yours
