Congrats to all CDers admitted to their dream school.  Currently I am choosing schools but very confused

It would be great if anyone can share with me how to choose a school

G: 700

w/e: 6+ IT in banking industry

2007 Sept Age: 29

why mba: career switching - IT mgmt/general mgmt/consulting

$: budget within USD 100, 000

Well - the background is too general. Depending on the quality of your working experience (your level, any big projects etc.).

Generally speaking, you can target from top 10 to 30. And below schools are pretty strong in IT (rank from high to low):

MIT, Berkeley, CMU, Austine, Purdue

overseeing 2 teams, have 6 direct reports + some contractors of vendor

project budgets are in terms of HKD millions

The school you mentions, are there any that is better because of location that's more IT related industry jobs

Well - they are schools that pretty "technical", you can see IT companies recurit many from these schools.

Your background is very strong, you can try Harvard/Stanford/Wharton. But remember, these schools are always the most selective. (maybe Wharton a bit easier). I think Berkeley and MIT should be your realy target school. (I applied both this year:-)
