[求助]GWD28-17!急



28-17: In the nation of Partoria,
large trucks currently account for 6 percent of miles driven on Partoria’s
roads but are involved in 12 percent of all highway fatalities. The very
largest trucks – those with three trailers – had less than a third of the accident
rate of single- and double-trailer trucks. Clearly, therefore, one way for
Partoria to reduce highway deaths would be to require shippers to increase
their use of triple-trailer trucks.

楼主见黄色部份, 是不是打错了?


E好象不对, 我选A.

题目是照原题复制的. 我没有看清问的是weaken, 所以选了E.
如果是weaken, 我也认为是A.

The hidden assumption: under the similar situation, three trailers have less incidence rates than do other trucks. If the difference in incidence rates occurs because of the other factors, as stated in A, then the conclusion does not necessary hold.

那A是在说什麽呀? on lightly? 是说很少使用triple trail truck 嘛?

明显是A,前面说三拖的比一拖和二拖的车祸少三分之一,所以建议多用三拖的。

而A说卡车公司到目前为止在主要的高速公路上少用三拖,三拖只是lightly traveled sections 。简单说,意思是,为什么三拖的车祸数据低啊?因为它很少开高速。如果开高速,说不定更多车祸,所以削弱了建议。
