Why PhD application favor those with MBA>

I checked several schools PHD students profile, most of them have a MBA.

sigh, isn't that a conflict of their mba goal with a phd goal????

Not necessarily.I know several guys who got into phd program with MA, or Mphil, even bachelor degree.

it should not be the case if the phd program is highly discipline based.

还有更猛的,从bachelor毕业到phd毕业的5年时间里。拿了3个master(ms,ma,ms),一个mba,一个phd，结果简历给人的感觉是一年能拿两个master,而且phd只需1年。忘了是哪个学校的神人了。另外，这几个学位还不是同一个学校读出来的。当然这期间还有一大堆的工作经验，看上去全是fulltime的职位。 要是没记错的话，可能是duke的某prof.
