The one i visit most is Uker.net. Obviously you have found UKER. it has good forum and Chinese alumni BBS by individual universities, People who are interested in Lancaster can go there and join the Lancaster Alumni.

Your friend has a good Finance profile, " CFA level 3 " ! very professional!

Or did he ask for very high pay when looking for a job?

Sorry, I do not think the main reason is because of Lancaster.

If so, how about lots of people graduating from other relatively inferior 80 to 90 UK universities (There are about 100 universities in the UK) ? how about millions of people who have never studied abroad?

Please make it clear in order not to mislead people here,   especially he has the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) professional Finance qualification!

今天上学校网站看过了，哈哈，宿舍好亲切啊，宿舍风格跟以前读大学时候很类似，只不过以前是四人一间，现在一人一间。

I think most of people know that it is very competitive and hard for international students to find a job in both UK and US, even graduating from Oxford univerity.

Let's have a look at the discussions on another topic "Oxford MFE VS UIUC MSF" (http://forum.chasedream.com/dispbbs.asp?boardID=14&ID=157354&star=3&page=).

From the following message, it is very clear that, for Chinese students, true capability plays the most important role in finding a job in the UK or US, not the university you were graduated from, right? (If so, all the 9 Chinese students studying Oxford MFE should have got the job already, not just those 2 lucky students!) But it is true that Oxford graduates have better chance due to Oxford's big name as compared with other universities' graduates.

前面的傻B居然说什么CAM没有MSC FINANCE,笑死人了, CAM是MPHIL FINANCE,我在这里高度鄙视楼主是不是真的有， 还什么不去OX, 去LANCASTER,只要在英国读UNDER的都知道LANCASTER在英国是很好申请的,SECOND UP就很轻松的进, CAM , OX LSE等FIRST CLASS的拒了太多了, CAM的FINANCE今年几千人个人申请, 只收三十多个, 还有很多是有PHD的人申请, LACASTER是英国最名不副实的大学.只要人在英国就会知道, 我搞不懂居然这么多人把LACASTER捧的这么搞, 在英国, 随便NOTTINGHAM , MANCHESTER,BRISTOL地位都比LANCASTER不知道高多少,

我现在真发现CD这里人的水准了, 居然把LACASTER看的什么比OX, CAM ,LSE还好, 还有傻B问跟LBS有没有的拼...太无语了

从小, 大家只知道六个大学, 北大, 清华, 美国的哈佛,耶鲁, 英国的牛今见桥, 现在居然有人说UIUC比OX好了,我丢,现在CD好多傻B都觉的自己研究很深, 很有研究背景,其实什么都不懂, 只要是在国外读完硕士的都该有体会, 专业排名, 教授好不好， 根本一点不重要, 他们重视的是研究,根本不怎么管教书, 念书完全靠自己,毕业完全靠综合名气,跟什么专业排的高不高, 牛教授多不多完全没关系

拜托这种东西还是在国外读的或者毕业的来讨论， 不要还在国内就在那搞的自己很有研究, 乱讲影响那么多即将要出国的人

Hi young buddy,

Please calm down.  You are obviously quite extreme and biased. For example: “从小, 大家只知道六个大学, 北大, 清华, 美国的哈佛,耶鲁, 英国的牛今见桥 ”,  I do not think so! That is only your own biased opinion, and "you" are not able to represent the whole population of China!  In addition, other members also think you are quite biased and, what is worse, you did personal attacks not only here but also elsewhere. Buddy, please be courteous and humble even if you are really excellent, as described by youeself somewhere in this forum.

So I do not want to waste my precious time and energy on this meaningless dispute. But I need to clarify some matters and indicate my stance today. Afterwards, I will not waste my time to comment on whatever you will say here.

Regarding the university rankings of RAE, Global MBA and UK Finance, they were done by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE), Financial Times, and  UKER英国教育研究中心 (United Kingdom Education Research Centre,简称UKERC) respectively, neither ChaseDream members nor me. So if you want to protest, please go to them to submit your protest statements against their ranking results, not here.

As for Oxford, I always say that Oxford has a big name and have never said that its entry requirement is low. Oxford is one of the top schools in the world indeed.   

I always wish everybody great success in his/her application and future study no matter which university he/she will choose or is studying at. I also wish you can obtain offers from OX/CAM.

In addition, I said “Cambridge seems not to have MSc Finance programme”. In fact, Cambridge does not have “MSc” Finance indeed, but Mphil.  My sentence wasn’t wrong. Generally speaking, in the UK, the Mphil programme is designed for those who plan to undertake a PhD, and is usually the preliminary programme or stage before students are allowed to be upgraded to the PhD. I believe almost all the PhD students studying in the UK know that. So Cambridge has different titles of its Master degrees from most of British universities. Anyway, thanks for your information.
