I felt awful about my interview too.But it's said that GMAT scores would be more important in the decision of scholarship once you had been admitted. I hope so.
I guess both of you will be awarded with dean's fellowship.
Several years ago, two classmates of mine and I, all with gmat score above 750, were all granted this scholarship. (of course, we applied in different years.)
