I would say sales and trading is good for girls in long-term (esp sales, less pressure and stable working hours as well as good pay) and it is not necessary for you to consider an MBA in the future.

====I doubt that! sale and trade are great presure for both man and woman, not stable at all, you  have to make sure the sale volume and the target....but the market is changing without any expectation, how to say stable?

For banking job, a lot of employers prefer the candidate with a degree from top school? some say so! i don't know. For those people with no previous experience of this industry, it is limited to carry the knowledge and the market view of banking....so i am questionable that how the banking company select those candidates.....

Sorry I did not make it clear. I mean sales and trading are good for girls compared with other jobs in IB and excluding back office functions in IB. I don't know much details. But friends working in sales in a top tier IB do have quite happy lives.  ressures get rise from any job, once you assume responsibilities.

Many bankers are career changers. If you had any finance background before, that's great. If not, that's fine, too. There are many ways to get insights of banking besides working in an IB. Qualified candidates should do homework and demonstrate relevant skills in interviews.

As far as I know, most IB prefer top business schools or experienced people with strong work experience for associate positions. If you don't have experience, probably the most important thing is to be shortlisted for interview, which can be very difficult since IB may only select 20 out of 200 students for 1st round interview. You interpersonal skills as well as your knowledge about financial market will be more important in the interview. According to my classmates, though that are very strong at networking are more probably to be shortlisted if they don't have strong work background. I gave one example: one of my classmate told a leading IB that he was very interested in trading though there was no trading position last time. Later the classmate got a call from the bank that there become 1 new trading position. The guy attended several interviews that finally got the offer last month. Most Chinese/Korean are not good at such networking.
