Both are great jobs for MBA application. Your job prior to MBA doesn't really matter in school application, but in post MBA job hunting. I personally prefer the IBD job. I believe IBD will open more doors for you in the future, no matter if you have an MBA or not. Just make sure that you will be fine with the IBD life before your decision. The rumors on the streets are not just rumors. IBD life could be as horrible as you imagine. I would say sales and trading is good for girls in long-term (esp sales, less pressure and stable working hours as well as good pay) and it is not necessary for you to consider an MBA in the future.
Just finished my 7th IBD interviews at school today. I think if you target IBD after MBA (though I don't think so after your IBD life), anything other than IBD would be regarded as irrelevant ones and you would be considered a career changer. I worked under the umbrella of a top IB on the street but not in the exact IB division. I have been challenged several times why I wanna investment banking as a career changer.
As for w/e in China, I think it does count in terms of business understandings. There are ppl in my school who get into the top ibanks final interviews with sole China w/e. I think if banks didn't value it, they woud not have even offered the interviews. But if you wanna land a job here, you definitely should prepare to answer all kinds of questions about American market and your commitment to a career in the states.
