I appreciate cheeyong's advice. But if I were on Stern's admission committee, I'd like to consider candidates with different backgrounds and career goals. Isn't it boring to have only I-bankers in an MBA program? Isn't it a pity to be named as an IB oriented MBA program? I'd assume Stern wants to change this image too. In fact, quite some Stern alumni work in consulting and other fields as well.
I don't think there's anything wrong with being creative with essay3. My understanding is that lots of reasons put the applicant at disadvantage, for example, low GMAT, bad GPA, not enough work experience.
