Stern essay2, help!

How do you guys handle this topic? I'm an engineer in the wireless industry. Not much personal experience with the Stern community. Any hints?

Stern Essay2 -- Fit with Stern:

The NYU Stern community is one of our strongest assets. Please answer the following questions about community: (2 pages maximum, double-spaced, 12-point font):

(a) What is your personal experience with the Stern community? What actions have you taken to learn more about us?

(b) How would you contribute to our community as a student?

(c) How will you benefit personally and professionally from the Stern community?

I assume they want to make sure you are serious about Stern.

Have you ever visited the school?  Attended any On-the-road information session? Met any alumni?  Talked to any school representative?

I also find this essay very difficult. If people never work with a Stern alumnus or visit New York and/or Stern, how can this topic be written?

What are they looking for in this essay?

I think lukapurple is right -- Stern wants to make sure we are serious. I've been to NY several times, but just for fun, and never visited Stern. Sigh . Guess I have to find some Stern alumni to talk to.

Anyway, I think Stern appears to be a little too arrogant and sometimes it's hard to know what you'll get until you are really getting it.

Stern今年有在北京开seminar吗？这个experience真的很少啊，难写。。

还有第三篇，describe yourself to your classmates in any method, 需要写的很深入详细么？还是impressive就行？个人觉得要是前者还非得文字不行a

有没有stern 的alumni能说说以前大家都用的什么方式来describe自己么？我怕自己随便高一个会显得很幼稚啊

Stern is a well-rounded school and is especially strong in finance. The NY community also makes this school extremley attractive for applicants who plan to puruse IB. But if you don't want to work in IB, and find this essay unreasonable, you may abandon stern and try another schoool.

ESSAY 2 -a:In my opinion,this essay require you to investigate Stern Community & express your understanding-- what is Stern in your mind?

b- same as other school's: what the community could benefit from your attendance? Your experience,your personality,your speciality.

C- Your expectation from Stern.

Essay 3: just think about what kind of candidates Stern will pick up? or be yourself.

For Stern's essay three, I would like to share one of my friend's experience with you.

He applied to stern severy years ago. He thought he should present this essay in a creative way. He found a friend in New York Times, and presented his experience in the frontpage of that famous newspaper. He optimistically believed this way of presentation was creative enough, but to his disappointment, he was rejected without interview.

How would you comment on his experience? What you plan to do for this year?
