i have read thru this thread for several times, but it seems that there is no mention in this regard. anyway i somehow got it figured out, i think. According to my observation and the info i got from the website, i think they require phone interwers to initiate the call the Ross schoool at the scheduled time.

not sure whether i straighten it out correctly, looking 4wards to confirmation from current students! thanks in advance!

Hi, Dear Ring:

I just finished my interview this morning.

However, the lady asked me several very easy questions such as why Michigan, how to deal with team conflict and what are my extracuriculum activities.

She didn't even ask what I can contribute to Ross Community which was asked thousand of times for other interviewer.

The interview only lasts for 30 minutes including 5 minutes of casual chatting. Is it a bad sign that Ross does not concern about me? They conduct the interview only because I paid the fee?

Thank you very much for your reply. I'm now very confused.

Best, Piggy

Stanhope,

you can conduct the interview at the nearest city where you can find Michigan alum, who are usually very responsive. i sent several interview requests last year and got reply from all of them. face-to-face interview results are more positive - you can sit with the alum and have a nice conversation to promote yourself, unless you have some back luck. why don't you come back to China for the interview, if you believe in the country?

anyway, it's up to you. for the phone interview, please confirm directly with the admission office.

good luck!

Piggy,

my interview last year was 30 mins and i was not asked the "contribution" question. I don't think the interviewer needs to go thru some stardard questionnaire, though there are evaluation critiria including leadership and teamwork, etc.

i can't tell if you've had a good interview or not. but style of interviewers vary. if you think you prepared well for the contribution question, you can push it forward proactively. kind of late advice, isn't it?

for now, just sit back and wait for the results. good luck!

p.s., fee is not the issue.

First of all, good to hear that u have finished your interview.

The purpose of interview varies from school to school, but basically it is to know you better beyond "cold" resume and other materials, and to see if you can be better involved in Ross. So, regarding your concern, the interviewer will put an ending to the interview as long as he/she gets enough info to make a judgment of you.

Personally, i don't classify the interview based on the questions and length of the interview. Neither do I think the interviewer will treat applicants unequally.

So from what u described sofar, unless u screwed it up, (which u didn't mention), your interview sounds good to me. Put your efforts on other schools, if there is any.

good luck, pure_big!
