33 or 34 years old. Is it too old for MBA as the statistics indicate that the age range is 20+ to 32. Many thanks

Hi 飞雪and Laobob,

I am a prospective applicant to Ross.I have an urgent question for you: I plan to submit my application package before Jan. 7, which is the 2nd round. However, I found out couples days ago that the score of TOEFL (score was 641) I took more than two years ago, expired. And the nearest date I can take the test is next Jan.14, in addition to that it will take another 8 weeks for the score report to come out, so in that case the earliest I can make is the 3rd round, and I know as an international student, if I do not make it to the first two rounds, it will put me into a disadvantage. And I asked Ross adimission commitee about what I should do.Their answer is my options would be to either submit an application for Round 3 or wait until next Fall and submit an application for Round 1.However,I really want to try it this year, but I wonder how much chance there will be for a chinese student in Round 3,do you think it will worth it or not,or I should just wait till next fall?

Looking forward to your answer and thanks for your time.

   Hi Laobob and 飞雪,

I have another question here, which is that I heard that Ross is pretty friendly to Chinese students,is that true?If so,could you tell me in terms of which aspects specifically? And do you know any other top b-schools are friendly to Chinese students too?

    Appreciate your answer.

非常感谢RSB-2007, 不过10% 还是竞争非常激烈。我工作背景一般。看运气了。

ross的各位朋友,能否帮忙回答一下这个问题?期待中

I recommend you contact admissions comittee directly, and they can check whether your score report has been received or not.

As far as I know, the admission rate of Chinese students at Ross is below 10%, regardless of age.

Cocobutter,

The answer to your first question is: There seems to be a misconception that it is impossible to get in during round three.  This is simply not true.  Fewer people may be admitted during round three, but only because the volume of applications is also smaller.  The people responsible for admissions have enough experience with this process to ensure that there are still spaces available for qualified applicants in the third round.  The bottom line is that the people we admit would be admitted regardless of the rounds in which they applied.  Again, the one caveat is that internationals may find that applying in round three will provide them with a condensed timeframe for getting their student visa (though still not impossible)

When people talking about whether a school is friendly to Chinese, they normally refer to the numbers of Chinese the school admits every year.  By far, Ross is still one of the schools admitted the largest numbers of Chinese.  Besides, Michigan overall is a very international oriented school and Ann Arbor is an international-friendly town.  You can always expect many of your classmates willing to offer you a hand.
