对不起.. 我没有电子文件 不知道是否可以请手边有书的朋友帮忙解惑

想请教大家11th一篇阅读 有几个句子中的指涉我不清楚

1.      主要是搞不懂public events和historical interpretation间的关系, “These latter activities have their own history, of course, which may impinge unexpected ways on public events. 是说这些在历史被研究被诠释被阅读的过程中另外创造出不一样的历史? 而这个另外的历史会不预期地与public events冲突? (是这样的意思吗? 如果是, 这句话又为何这样说呢? 我不懂对public events的影响是什么,究竟是哪些events文中好象没具体说明)

2.      “The Supreme Court had issued its ruling in this epochal desegregation case a few months before Woodward’s lectures.”我本来是预期”after” W’s lectures而非before W’s lectures.难道这边的意思是,W的lecture是引用前几个月法院在一个划时代反歧视案子中的法令? 可是法院不是应该代表prevailing dogma因为前面有说把这种传统歧视行为编为合法?(Q130的答案也说了) 我实在不懂呢

3.      “the second revised edition”是第二版吗?如果是为何不是说the revised edition? 这样让我觉得是第三版也就是修过后再修一次; 这里的edition是不是全都指W自己的著作?

4.      “Ten years later, in a preface to the second revised edition, Woodward confessed with ironic modesty that the first edition “had begun to suffer under some of the handicaps that might be expected in a history of American Revolution published in 1776.”这句话我看不懂,也无法理解Q131的模拟例子和后面解释; 为何用ironic? Handicap指的真正是什么?

5.      “…and of how historical evidence could undermine the mythological tradition that was crushing the dreams if new social possibilities.” 这里的historical evidence指的是什么呢? Mythological tradition指的是传统种族歧视做法吗?为何说是mythological呢? 整句话又应该如何解释?

6.      第一二段除了部份句子大意似乎还可理解,但是第三段就真的不懂了

整篇几乎没有生字,却无法真正理解..对我最大的问题点是, 究竟是哪些events? 哪些evidence? 著作造成的影响是什么?(并没有对法院判决造成改变不是吗? 我还是不懂那句话写出来的意思)

7. 题目方面就是Q131那题真的看不懂

请大家指点, 每次做阅读我好象都想太多, 把文章弄得好复杂自己都昏了, 我应该怎么做阅读呢? 感谢大家的耐心
