Main Point: introduce the Kuiper Belt & KBOs
P1: what is KB and where is KB: 70k+ small bodies orbiting the Sun beyond the Neptune
P2: Classical KBOs:
- small & eccentric orbit
- far way from Nep
- some excited: different theories, including the passing star, which is rare but not impossible
P3: Scatter KBOs:
- large and eccentric orbit
- close to the Nep and thus being influenced in three ways:
1) push out of the solar system: Ooort Cloud
2) plant crossing orbit: short period comet
3) Plutinos
P4: KB is smaller now than before mainly because KBOs collided and became dusts influenced by Nep. However, still not impossible to find larger than Pluto KBOs beyond 70AU distance |
