神经元neurons通过structured pathwys传递信息给突触synapes.

（反驳P1）越来越多证据表明：neurons可以不经过pathwys传播。
直接跨突触across synapses传播（最快）。
volume transmission：大脑像广播站一样通过空气传播信息 +传播中介（流动空间）+传播载体（化学&电信号）

对比两种理论的不同。虽然volume transmission更快，但实验表明volume transmission在细胞外释放化学信号也很慢、但有其独特作用。

-electrons flow along wires in circuit, neurons relay info along pathways & passing messages across synapses
-info can’t leave the neuronal circuit

-evidence: neurons communicate wo contact
-across synapse=the fastest means of passing info, but info often leaves the track

-carriers of messages: chemical & electrical signals

P3:解釋新理論VT非舊觀點的替代，而是補充
-VT theory not an alternative to the tractional view (wiring, synaptic transmission) but a complement
-neural replay signals across synapses (eg. reading)
-neural release chemical signals into extracellular space detected by cells far away (=hormones released)—> much longer time scales than synaptic transmission, and distinct role, perhaps regulating&modulating the brain’s response to synaptic signals.
