1st: host age may affect infestation levels, mortality of a host, and parasite distribution. Two hypothesises as below: firstly, parasites are recruited faster than they die. Hence adult host is a better parasitism choice. Secondly, parasites died faster than recruite. Hence selecting lower infection adult due to highly-demand on immune respond. The experiment was doing on ectoparasites in the N dessert. No infestation difference among various ectoparasite numbers to the host's surface area. However host age affects juvenile survival rate. It turns out it will affected by other host-related and parasite-ralated traits.
2nd: another possibility is adverse situations balance off. Such as age-biased
hypothesis 1:parasites are recruited faster than they die
hypothesis 2: parasites die faster than they are recruited
1) no age difference in infection and distribution
2) age difference in survival
