【更新结果】Kellogg vs Yale SOM ($$) vs NYU Stern ($$$$)

不知不觉离我发这个帖子快一个月了，在这短短一个月中，我纠结过m7的brand值不值那么多钱，摇摆过是要从事咨询科技还是尝试我从未想过的金融，也穷尽了身边可以利用到的所有资源试图为自己的烦恼找个答案。一方面是我personally prefer的学校并不给scholarship，另一方面是一个就业生活各方面都很不错的学校加上没有经济压力，这一切really made it a tough decision to make。在这过程中非常感谢有一百七十多位同学给我投票，最后的结果也如我意料之中非常平均，想必大家站在我的角度看也会觉得很难make a decision吧。
如果说每天工作12个小时之余还要烦恼选校这件事情还有什么好处的话，那就是通过这个过程我和这些学校的同学还有校友都建立了联系，也从进入mba之前就感受到了大家的openness和supportiveness，让我有信心可以在两年里面认识一群很cool的朋友。更重要的是，我在择校的过程中也从各个方面重新审视了我读mba的初心和更加仔细的思考了我mba之后想要做什么。

唠叨了一大段，最后LZ还是打算follow my gut选kellogg了。在做出这个选择的时候我并不能预测之后结果的好坏，也遗憾自己不能站在上帝视角看选择另外一个选项的自己过得会不会更好，但是无论哪一条路到最后我相信我都不会后悔的。

申请经历我有机会会来添加一下(虽然非常不建议像LZ一样11月才想好申请mba导致赶r2只够申请几所)。不过如果对我的申请经历有兴趣的话可以PM或者加我的wechat。可能我以后也会回来这个帖子update下我的近况。

LZ在数月的等待之后终于收获了一些offer，其中包含我一直很心仪的kellogg。但是因为是round 2申请的 (并且美国最近的market非常崩) 所以kellogg并没有给任何的奖学金，而同时yale和stern又特别有诚意(yale给了$25k/yr+Forte Fellowship 然后stern是full ride)，所以现在在纠结中。希望大家可以帮忙提一些建议.
附上LZ背景：
美本top 20; 毕业后留美在四大consulting; WE 2.5; GMAT740。post-mba想要尝试的industry包括PE/VC的operation role，或者是tech公司corporate strategy。

谢谢！！kellogg是我的top choice之一，但是两年的费用也是一笔很大的支出，所以应该会考虑向kellogg argue一下。不知道chasedream网站上有没有什么好的strategy或者template可以参考～

from M7 MBA Negotiations class: write an email to set up a call with admission. don't write them an email asking for money. kellogg admission is stuck working from home at this point. they ain't got nothing else going on. You should be able to match scholarship or get some at the very least. If you can't make a simple request for scholarship with strong leverage (your offer from other Top MBAs), well then you don't deserve free money lol

also, more importantly make sure you are part of the admission wechat group and ask Kellogg current students. Many successfully asked for scholarships.

Ask to match what you received from NYU. You have nothing to lose.

找金融工作地理位置最重要，kellogg地铁1小时到芝加哥市里和NYU就在NYC里，建议根据target company去模拟下求职的交通便利度和学校的就业资源~~

看上去Yale是三个选择里的折中方案，但如果需要把未来可能回国的因素考虑进去，那么答案想必是显而易见的了。

Thank for your great advice!! I had set up an appointment with a Kellogg admin officer and planned to gauge their interest in matching my scholarship from NYU (or at least part of). Let's see what happens if I use Yale and NYU as leverage.

I am in the admission wechat group but haven't heard anyone discussing scholarship topics. There's also rumor that Kellogg doesn't negotiate scholarship. If you happen to know any Kellogg students who successfully argued their scholarship from Kellogg, would you mind passing their WeChat info to me so I can reach out? My WeChat id is 413492431. 谢谢！！我因为毕业之后一直在美国，所以对国内公司对mba的认知度还有学校的recognition不是特别的了解。但是long-term也很有可能考虑回国发展，请问yale在国内的知名度/影响力远远大于kellogg和stern吗？

嗯嗯 我会尝试和kellogg negotiate一下，毕竟就这样放弃top choice还是有点不甘心
