一个生产汽车的公司发现，上个月, gasoline price has increased 10% and the sales of our SUV cars and trucks has declined. 作者觉得肯定是gasoline价格增长导致了decline，并且提出以前当gasoline price有小幅度增长的时候，customer都会对大型车购买变得reluctant，更何况现在the price increase is evidently large，customer可能连小型车都不想购买了。之后又说公司的research department recently developed hybrid car engine (based on jet engine) shows potential in automobile market。所以结论是to maintain the sales for the coming years, the company should shift most of its production to the cost-effective, hybrid-engine car.
